Why we quote per lab
A Pulse Solution has three plans — Basic, Medium and Premium — and the pricing page sets out exactly what each one includes. We do not publish a single figure for them, because a one-room lab running a few dozen reports a day and a hospital lab with three collection points are not buying the same thing. What determines lab software pricing
Wherever you shop, five things drive the cost of laboratory software. It helps to know them before you compare quotes, because two vendors can put very different things behind the same headline figure.
Report volume
The line most often metered. Some vendors charge per report; others set a monthly boundary. With APulse, Basic covers up to 300 reports a month and Medium up to 2,000; Premium is unlimited. There is no per-report fee at any tier — outgrowing a plan means moving up one, not paying by the report.
Staff seats
Basic includes 3 staff accounts, Medium up to 10, and Premium up to 25, with more on request. Roles for admin, reception, technician and doctor come with every plan — access control is not an add-on.
Branches
Basic and Medium cover a single lab. Branch networks run on Premium, quoted on the size of the network — multi-branch management keeps every branch in one account.
Analyser interfacing
Sending results straight from an analyser into the software is switched on for your account on request, on any plan, and it is never plug and play. APulse reads ASTM and HL7 results, but connecting the physical machine is part of setup and depends on the analyser model and how it talks. Without it switched on, results are entered by hand. Ask any vendor exactly which of your machines they have connected before, and what that connection costs.
Data migration
Moving patient history in from Excel or an older system is optional, and a small one-time cost on any plan. It depends on how much data there is and what shape it is in, so we look at it before quoting.
Subscription or one-time licence
A one-time licence looks cheaper over a long horizon, until you count what comes with it: a server to buy and keep running, a licence per machine, an annual maintenance contract, and paid upgrades when the version you bought falls behind. A subscription moves all of that onto the vendor — hosting, backups, encryption and updates sit inside the plan — and you can stop paying when it stops earning its place.

Hidden costs to ask any vendor about

- Is there a fee per report, per patient or per SMS, and what happens in a busy month?
- Are software updates and new features included, or sold as upgrades?
- Is the licence per device, so a new reception computer costs extra?
- Who pays for the server, its backups and its repairs?
- What does connecting each of my analysers cost, and has it been done with my model before?
- What does it cost to move my existing records in — and to take them out if I leave?

Can we pay monthly or yearly?
Either. Monthly suits labs that want to start small, and yearly is billed once by bank transfer. Your written quote shows both, and you can switch to yearly whenever it suits you.
How do we get an exact price?
We quote each lab individually, because the price depends on your report volume, staff accounts and branches. Does the PHC compliance module cost extra?
No — it is included on every plan, including Basic. All eighteen registers, the critical-value block and the quality-control release gate come with it. A single-room lab in Punjab is inspected against the same 37 standards and 118 indicators as a hospital laboratory, so pricing compliance as an upgrade would make the entry plan unusable. Basic is limited by scale instead — 300 reports a month, 3 staff accounts, one branch. Medium adds the analysis that reads those registers, such as reconciling kits issued against tests reported, and Premium adds analyser integration.
How much does it cost for multiple branches?
Branch networks run on the Premium plan, with up to 5 branches and collection centres and 25 staff accounts managed from one login; extra branches or centres are added on request, priced per site. The price is tailored to the size of your network — contact us on WhatsApp for a written quote.
Does the price rise as my report volume grows?
Within a plan, no — there are no per-report fees at any tier. The Basic plan covers up to 300 reports a month, which suits most single-room labs; if you regularly cross that, the move is to Medium, which covers up to 2,000 a month, and past that to Premium, where reports are unlimited. There is never a charge per report.
